Friends of Children Awards
Purpose of the Awards:
To recognize individuals, programs and businesses or corporations
making outstanding contributions on behalf of children and
youth in Oklahoma. And to hold these individuals,
programs and businesses up as models of what can be done
in other communities throughout the state.
A panel of involved citizens and community leaders, throughout
the state and independent of OICA, will choose 5-7 winners
in these categories:
Volunteer
A person
whose service to children is accomplished primarily
as a volunteer, not as part of their paid employment.
Professional
Individual
A person whose professional practice
is a paid service to children.
Youth
A young person who is 21 or under,
may be in or out of school.
Program
An
organized activity or program, by an agency, organization
or community group.
Corporations
or Business
Business or corporation that has made
a significant contribution in service to children.
Lifetime Achievement
An individual who has been contributing to the well-being
of children in Oklahoma for at least 20 years.
