Women and children first” is a code of conduct dating from 1852, whereby the lives of women and children were to be saved first in a life-threatening situation, typically abandoning ship, when survival resources such as lifeboats were limited.

In Oklahoma, OICA is working together with other organizations to improve the lives of women and children through advocacy. We are providing a day of advocacy training to those who want to help put Oklahoma women and children first.

Join OICA, Women Lead, and the Oklahoma Women’s Coalition at the Oklahoma Capitol, February 5, for a day of advocacy training, lunch, a State of the State viewing party and post address panel discussion on it’s affect on women and children.
