What ideas do you have to better the lives of Oklahoma’s children?
One of six boys, the father of four daughters, and the grandfather of four grandchildren, children and families are especially important to Bob Anthony. Securing the economic future of Oklahoma families and supporting Oklahoma schools are fundamental to bettering the lives of Oklahoma’s children and are also top priorities of Bob Anthony at the Corporation Commission.
What have you done to support children prior to this election?
Oklahoma families need economic security. At the OCC, Bob Anthony has encouraged job growth and supported family budgets by helping keep our state’s utility rates among the lowest in the nation, ordering the largest utility refunds in state history. Utility bills are a major expense in most family budgets, and Bob has stood up for Oklahoma consumers. He is not afraid to ask tough questions and hold big companies accountable. His record shows a commitment to the public interest, not the special interests. A national consumers group honored him for his “tireless efforts on behalf of Oklahoma consumers”.
Oklahoma’s children need quality educational opportunities. At the OCC, Bob Anthony incentivized the roll-out of high-speed Internet to schools and libraries in more than 100 Oklahoma towns and cities, giving our students the tools they need to succeed.
Oklahoma’s children need good role models. Bob Anthony is an honest, honorable public servant our kids can look up to at the state capitol. He has rooted out corruption, enforcing the toughest ethics code in state government and embedding regular performance, financial and operational agency audits. The F.B.I. honored Bob with its highest award given to a citizen who “at great personal sacrifice, has unselfishly served his community and the nation.”
What will you do to support families in your new role, if elected?
If elected to another term at the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, Bob Anthony will continue to be an independent, conservative voice for honesty and integrity in government and a public servant Oklahoma consumers can trust to fight for the interests of all Oklahomans — especially Oklahoma’s children and families.
