Matt Pinnell

What ideas do you have to better the lives of Oklahoma’s children?

As a board member of the 111 Project and a former Fostercare parent, I will use the statewide platform of the Lieutenant Governor to promote the importance of investing both financially and personally in our foster care system. We must have additional resources to recruit more foster care families- I will be a champion for this cause and can speak from my personally experience. Additionally, I will work with the governor and the legislature to ensure stable education funding, criminal justice reform, and better health care options across the state.

What have you done to support children prior to this election?

I currently serve as a board member of the 111 Project, a foster care initiative that services DHS with the CarePortal, and our family continues to be an advocate for more families to serve as a foster family.

What will you do to support families in your new role, if elected?

I will work with the governor and the legislature to help address stable education funding, work to better health care options across the state, and criminal justice reform. Additionally, diversifying our economy to allow for more private sector good paying jobs and securing nonvolatile recurring revenue for core services is a must. We’ve been governing from crisis to crisis, and we must provide a plan to move Oklahoma forward.

Hon. Anastasia A. Pittman

What ideas do you have to better the lives of Oklahoma’s children?

We must invest more in our per pupil spending, and less for incarceration per inmates. Oklahoma must prioritize long term revenue for our teachers who are on the front line of developing our educated workforce. Children must have a safe place to learn, grow and thrive. I want to see stem coding programs introduced in 1st grade. We need more engineers and scientists, however, everything starts with reading prior to 3rd grade. I fully support 0-3 programs and the statistical Kids Count data from the Casey Foundation.

What have you done to support children prior to this election?

I have introduced, co authored, and voted on legislation that supports issues pertaining to health disparities, early childhood development, and restore funding for our Smart Start programs. We do not have Smart Start programs in all 77 counties, funding will ensure that students all across the state has an equal opportunity to succeed in school. I will continue to support access to healthcare for children. Oklahoma has shown great progress when children are insured and healthy.

What will you do to support families in your new role, if elected?

I will continue to use the executive legislative experience to support families, advocate for working class citizens, and promote small businesses. When we have strong families, we make strong communities, and strong communities help strong businesses thrive in Oklahoma. If elected, My goals as Lieutenant Governor include more than advocating for businesses to remain under local control, but we must seek opportunities to recruit, retain and reclaim industry that promotes and produces jobs. I will work with both public and private partnerships to ensure that our investments in businesses yield sustainable returns.
