What ideas do you have to better the lives of Oklahoma’s children?

I feel like we need to do a better job of funding kids that are in foster situations and help promote adoptions so that more kids have the opportunity to be apart of a family that they can call their own. We also need to ensure that children are receiving a top-notch education so that they are prepared and positioned well to be successful in their future. We need to continue to prioritize education funding and also make sure that the money is adequately going to the classrooms for teacher pay, textbooks, technology, school supplies, etc. so that the teachers have the tools and resources to properly teach our kids who are our state’s future and greatest asset!

What have you done to support children prior to this election?

My first vote in the Legislature was voting “for” HB 1010xx which gave teachers the largest pay raise in the state’s history as well as set our K-12 education spending at the highest level in state history. Prior to office; I’ve taught many kids athletic teams from Tball all the way to high school at Marlow. I’ve also been a Sunday School teacher for 5th & 6th grade boys for over 10 years at FBC Marlow. I also served on the Marlow School Board of Education which meant volunteering my time to help children in our local public school and ensure that they are receiving a quality education. I’ve been very involved in the Stephens County Stem Program where I’ve invested time with students and teachers and helped advocate skilled trades and opportunities in the local region. I’ve personally given not only my time but also my money to many children organizations, fundraisers and activities to help them. Overall, I’m 100% invested in our state’s kids and have been many years prior to running for a political office and will continue many years after I’m out of public office.

What will you do to support families in your new role, if elected?

I would continue to support kids in all the various ways that I mentioned in the above answer. I would also work to help push legislation for any opportunities to help improve the lives of our state’s children & families where it makes sense and improves our state.
