What ideas do you have to better the lives of Oklahoma’s children?

In addition to providing Oklahoma children with an excellent education with appropriate funding, I will work to establish programs and curriculum that provide parenting skill training in conjunction with non-profit and existing government programs. Many of the issues facing our children result from parents that lack the skills necessary to support, mentor, champion and provide appropriately for their children.

What have you done to support children prior to this election?

I serve as a mentor for mothers of preschoolers, have been a volunteer with Junior Achievement and am a volunteer with Oklahoma Lawyers for Children.

What will you do to support families in your new role, if elected?

Our current criminal justice system is tearing our families apart. I will support reform of the criminal justice system to ensure that punishment fits the crime and we are not promoting a debtors prison. Additionally, I will work for accountability in the DHS system to protect children and to properly fund education in the public school system and to make excellent education opportunities available to all Oklahoma children.
