The Political Hacks Chili Cook-off has been a staple in Oklahoma politics for decades, and it is an OICA event! On October 20th, 2018, join OICA and politicos from all parties for a day of chili, fun, and some friendly competition.
We are pleased to announce our judges this year will be real life members of the Oklahoma Judicial Branch! Thanks to Justice Noma Gurich, Judge Trevor Pemberton and Judge Leah Edwards for being the first ones to confirm!
There are two ways to get involved in the chili cook-off.
First, you can enter a pot of chili:
All chili must have some of it made at the event using only gas to do it. There is no electricity so make sure to bring your best outdoor cooking recipe! Chili will be judged by a group of judges and so will your station, bring decorations to wow the crowd. All chili cookers will receive a 2018 Political Hacks Chili Cook-off apron. Just a reminder, we are a kid’s organization and there will be some children present so keep it classy folks!
The second way is to be a chili cook-off sponsor:
Sponsorship are just $100 and include your name on the t-shirts that will be sold at the event, and each sponsor will get a t-shirt!
Don’t worry, you can cook and be a sponsor too!
There will be a live band, cash bar, and you are welcome to bring drinks of your choice to have at your table. All tables are first come, first serve or you can bring your own. Chili will be collected for judging starting at 12pm and the grounds open at 8:30 am.
The 2018 Political Hacks Chili Cook-off will be held at: The Old Macklanburg Duncan Recreational Center at 5601 E Britton Rd. You can access the grounds by heading east on Britton just past Sooner Rd.
